Birth Records, Catholic Church, and Catherine McCarty

It appears that just about everything connected with the alleged birth parents of Billy the Kid amounts to one big cover-up and deliberate "planting" of false data, together with suppression of information.

The only part which is correct about Catherine McCarty is an officially established event in Catherine’s life: Her marriage which occurred on March 1, 1873 when she married William Henry Harrison Antrim in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Everything else is either non-existent, falsely contributed by historians, deliberately suppression of information, or information submitted by some fool trying to make a name for himself, and information that is shrouded in vague nuances of hearse, gossip, and barroom chit-chat.

This "mess" gets even worse when one tries to make sense of Catherine and her alleged two boys whom are supposed to be Joseph and Billy.
The assumption that she was Irish seems to remain popular among some historians; but it is just so much hype: unproven, and supported only by a traditional Irish surname associated with her two alleged sons.
The true identity of the father - or fathers anyone? - of the two sons Henry and Joseph, remains as an UNVERIFIED
assumption inter-mixed with pure speculation.

Some theories have floated around for "ages" (just like the tumbling tumble weeds of the southwest dessert).
One of those theories includes a man named Patrick McCarty and another about an unknown 3rd man who some claim he was a soldier.
But there is NO verified, documentary evidence to support any of these claims or theories!

Thus, Catherine’s life before the 1870's, where she resided, with whom she married, type of work she did ....all information that exists is based upon conjecture and speculation. The word "evidence" seems to be a rare commodity when it comes to the McCarty family.
It amounts to what this forum admin refers to as the "McCarty Cauldron of Locoweed and Spice".

However, the REAL disgusting part about all of the above is this:
That if certain individuals in authority and power would reveal the motives and the names of individuals who carried out specific cover-ups and suppression of certain records with regards to the birth records of the McCarty family, and additionally they were to come forward and reveal all existing official birth records of those individuals connected with the McCarty family - of which have NEVER BEEN REVEALED to the public - then much of this rather sordid and shameful act of secrecy would be at last set to rest.

Who is the "authority" who has the power to accomplish the above stated?
ANSWER: The Catholic Church!
In New York City, New York, Manhattan Parish, their is a particular Catholic Parish located therein which has been noted by some individuals to have in its possession the birth records of the McCarty Family.
Assuming that this is true, then ask yourself:

WHY does the Catholic Church refuse to release those birth records?
WHAT are they hiding from the public?
WHO are they protecting?
